Jonathan Shapiro AKA J Shap, has been creating rap music since he was 13. The 24 year old is a lyricist, freestyle artist, and creative. J Shap aims to break down barriers by being himself and giving an honest perspective of his life through his music. According to a review on Jonathan's song 2020, Global Media Blog (Global Money World) states, "Jonathan Shapiro's 2020 is raw Hip-Hop art that is truly a masterpiece." Jonathan's lifetime goal is to make positive change through his music.

In 2023 Jonathan moved to Colorado Springs where he signed to Survival 7 music after they dropped their debut project Survival of the Fittest. Now with distribution through Sony Music Group J Shap aims to take his music to new heights. As J Shap progresses so does his sound, which is constantly changing and evolving. He is expected to drop his debut solo album in 2025.
